Dr. Joanne Simon Walters is an uplifting, dynamic speaker, author, human resources and leadership professional who is committed to helping organizations and their employees create joyful workplaces where everyone can thrive.
Joanne leverages her 20 years of progressive leadership experience in operations and human resources across multiple industries including education, information technology, and financial services to design customized talks and workshops that focus on unlocking employee potential, boosting organizational culture, and creating environments where employees are free to contribute their best.
Currently, Joanne is the COO at a defense technology company. In addition, Joanne develops and delivers online training courses for LinkedIn Learning and is the co-author of five HR-centric books published by McGraw-Hill.
Joanne has earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Creative Leadership for Innovation and Change, a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Technology Management, and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Joanne is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources, SHRM-Senior Certified Professional, certified Crucial Conversations trainer, Prosci Change Management Practitioner, and a trained paralegal specializing in employment law.
When Joanne is not working, she is spending time with her family on her favorite Caribbean beaches in her birthplace of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands and her parents native country, Antigua, West Indies.
